Our territory takes in Jackson and the communities around it in Clarke County, so calls from Downtown Jackson, the College Avenue corridor and out by the Tombigbee River all get the same response.
A lot of what we see in Clarke County comes down to age. Houses built decades ago have solid frames with tired hardware; houses built recently have sound hardware in frames that are still settling.

Between roughly 65 inches of rain a year, near-constant humidity and a June-to-November hurricane season, coastal doors work harder than doors anywhere else in Alabama.
Salt corrodes window balances, latches and the metal spacers in insulated glass units, and coastal windows lose their sealed units and their hardware well ahead of the manufacturer's expectations.
Windows are designed to collect water in the frame and drain it out through weep holes, and blocked weeps during heavy rain is the standard reason water appears on an interior sill.
Knowing that is the difference between a repair that holds through a Jackson summer and one that does not.
Local factors we account for in Jackson: salt air and heavy rainfall — typical of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

- Identify the window and its makerBalances, operators and hardware are manufacturer-specific. Identifying the system decides what is available and what has to be adapted.
- Test the moving parts independentlySash movement, locking and sealing each get checked separately so we know which one has failed.
- Check the drainageWeep holes and sill drainage get checked on any window with water intrusion, because that is usually the cause.
- Repair rather than replace where it makes senseBalances, operators, locks and glass units are all serviceable parts. A whole window is rarely the honest answer.
- Reseal properlyCorrect sealant on a clean, sound surface, and glazing set with the right blocking so the unit is supported rather than pinched. On the coast we also check every fastener on the opening, because salt finds plated screws long before it touches the door itself.
- Test operation and lock engagementThe window should open, close and lock without force.
One call gets you an answer. We will tell you what is wrong and what it takes to fix.
Click to Call (205) 619-2895What affects the cost of window repair in Jackson
Pricing on window repair depends on what has actually failed, which is why we talk it through before quoting. These are the things that move the number:
- glass unit size, tempering and low-E coatings
- commercial glazing and access requirements
- wood repair and rot splicing where the frame is damaged
- single window versus several in one visit
- the type of window and whether replacement hardware is still available
Call and describe what the door is doing. In most cases we can tell you over the phone which of those applies to you before anyone drives out to Jackson.

Click to Call (205) 619-2895Window repair in Jackson: questions we get asked
Can painted-shut windows be opened again?
Usually yes, with care. It takes patience to cut the paint seal without damaging the sash or the stops, but old windows in Jackson homes are often perfectly serviceable once freed.
When is a window genuinely not worth repairing?
When the frame itself has failed structurally or the window is so far gone that repair costs approach replacement. That is a much smaller set of windows than you would think from replacement advertising, and we will tell you when you are in it.
Why will my window not lock anymore?
The sash has dropped or shifted, so the lock and keeper no longer meet. Forcing it can break the lock, and the actual fix is usually alignment rather than new hardware.
Water is coming in at my window sill. What causes that?
Usually blocked weep holes. Windows are designed to collect water in the frame and drain it out, and when those drains clog it backs up and comes inside instead.
My casement crank spins without moving the window. Why?
The gears in the operator have stripped. It is a common failure and a straightforward replacement as long as we can identify the manufacturer.
Do you repair commercial windows and storefront glazing?
Yes, including glass replacement, hardware and seals for Jackson businesses.
