How do I make my patio door more secure?
A foot bolt or auxiliary lock at the bottom of the panel and anti-lift hardware in the head channel. The factory latch on most patio doors is not much, and in Pelham it is one of the most common weak points on a house.
My patio door leaks water inside when it rains hard. Why?
Usually blocked weep holes in the sill. The track is designed to collect water and drain it outside, and once those drains clog the water rises to the interior lip and comes in. It is a cheap fix that prevents expensive floor damage.
