Why does my sliding door work fine in winter and stick in summer?
That is a moisture and expansion problem, and it is common across Mobile County. Humid months swell wood and vinyl components and expand the frame slightly, which is enough to close up clearance that was already marginal because of worn rollers.
Can you fix the lock without fixing the door?
Sometimes, but if the door has settled, a new lock will not line up with the keeper any better than the old one did. We check the panel alignment first, because a lock that will not catch is often a symptom rather than the actual problem.
My door came off the track. Did I break something?
